Justdial (sometimes stylised as JustDial or JD) is a company that provides online and over the phone local search for various services in India.The business, founded in 1996 by VSS Mani, is headquartered in Mumbai, India. In addition to its headquarters, Justdial has offices in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata and Pune. In 2019 Justdial had 12,691 workers  and a database of approximately 25.7 million listings and 500,838 active paid campaigns.
In 1987, when working for a yellow pages company,[VSS Mani was talking of replacing yellow pages with a database of information that consumers could call for up-to-date information on local business listings.[Note necessary] Mumbai landline phone number 2888-8888. After several years of looking for financial backing for his project, Mani founded Justdial in 1996 with a seed capital of Rs. 50,000,

On 20 May 2013 Justdial went public at a price between INR 897 and 898. Of the total 17.5 million shares,13.5 million were sold to the public, while the remainder were issued at INR 530 per share to 15 previous investors.To attract retail investment, Justdial had vowed that if the share price of Justdial dropped sharply within the first six months, they would buy back shares from retail investors at the IPO level. By the close of the market on the IPO day, the majority of new investments had come from international institutional investors. Justdial's share price hit a high of INR 1,894.70 on 5 August of the next year, subsequently dropping to the triple digits in 2015[quantify]
Justdial's "Justdial" software is a company listing site that users can access either over the phone or online. The company also operates "Justdial Social," a service that aggregates content from social media networks, television coverage, news, and other sources; and "Search Plus Service," a service that handles online purchases across the web and mobile apps. Ehraz Ahmed, an independent security researcher based in India, found a major security vulnerability in Justdial's Register API on 10 October 2019. The bug allowed competent hackers to log into any Justdial account simply by placing the phone number in the username parameter. This thus gave the hacker access to the Justdial account of any user. This vulnerability puts the personal data of the user at risk, but also jeopardizes the social profile of the user as the hacker may usethe system ID created by exploiting the flaw in accessing the account of Just Dial Pay and posting on the social profile of the user.
