PM Modi cheers up coronavirus
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a "combatant" while wishing him good health and praying for his recovery, shortly after he was diagnosed with coronavirus on Friday. Boris Johnson was the latest in an ever- list of top politicians, celebrities and royals like Prince Charles to have been
diagnosed with the deadly virus that spread its tentacles all over the globe, resulting in more than 22,000 deaths and 500,000 infections.
"You are a warrior, dear Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and you too must conquer this obstacle. Prayers for your good health and best wishes for a safe UK, "the prime minister tweeted. India has suggested the establishment of an online forum for Saarc states to share knowledge and expertise to combat the Covid-19 pandemic during a virtual meeting of eight-member health professionals.
Johnson is the second high- Britishpolitician to post- test positive recently. Some ministers in the Johnson government and MPs have also screened positively for Covid-19, including health secretary Matt Hancock, who tweeted shortly after Johnson to confirm his positive status. However, Johnson seems to be in good health and is eager to continue to function.
The Indian side told the meeting that substantial work has already been done to create a forum that could serve as a ' multipurpose vehicle ' for further discussion and performing activities such as online training for emergency response personnel, technical collaborations, sharing of disease monitoring information, including the required tools, and joint research for new diagnostics and therapy.
"I will continue to connect with my top team and lead the national fightback against thevirus, thanks to the wizardry of technology," he said in a video he posted on social mediaDuring the nearly two-hour video conference, India proposed the development of an online forum for all Saarc states to share and exchange information, experience, expertise and best practices to tackle the pandemic together.
The video conference of health professionals from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) member nations was held Thursday as a follow-up to the grouping leaders ' virtual meeting on March 15.
